Pre-RSVP

So, here they are. Our pre-rsvp's! They went out about a month ago or so now, after trying to figure out how to sort out numbers best, I was given this idea and just ran with it.

The majority of the guests won't be able to make it to Florida, which we are totally understanding of, but because of this we have to get numbers for the invites. As we're having a destination wedding, the invites and going to be like (not so) mini information packs. Including everything they need to know about the wedding, as well as events happening before, the day it self and Florida in general. Because of this, we didn't want to spend the money and effort on those when some of the guest list would be a "no" straight away. So far it's worked out well, and it's let me design the "air mail" invites I was looking forward to doing.

We went with the air mail theme, as it seemed very fitting. Designing everything our selves was fairly easy, with free downloads and photo editing sites. I added the name of the guests with mini luggage-esq tags I found on eBay, which with the string, bought it altogether really nicely. A little "Save the date" photograph of us, and a self addressed envelope, finished of the touches.

I hope you like them as much as we do?

Engagement Stationary. Invites

Engagement Party invites DIY design, printed by Vista Print.

When we decided on our engagement party, I was excited to get started on invites straight away. We ended up coming up with something really simple, but something that Sam and I worked on together and were really pleased with.
We used purple colours as that's our wedding colour, and simple designs and graphics including the bunting and banner.

We're now totally up for designing & getting ideas for invites and other wedding stationary...keep your eyes peeled as I'll be sure to share.

Wedding Planner Book

 Wedding Planner from Paper Themes*

Planning is such an exciting thing for me, I just feel happy and thrilled by it all. Not just my wedding, but everything in day to day life too. Having a good wedding planner to note everything down in, is a must, it's also pretty and an amazing memory to keep hold of.

This pretty wedding planner is just perfect, I love the graphics and fonts and the whole style with the ringed booked. It makes me want to fill it with all my ideas and plans, and with bits of fabric & notes.
Wedding planning can be hard work, and although I'm totally up for it, it can be a little daunting to keep up with everything. Having a wedding diary is the perfect way to record all the important information, or your inspiration and have it all in one place. This one has perfect pockets and departments to glue and keep, and keep hold of those little bits you're likely to lose. It covers the basics of everything wedding planning, and then everything in between.

You can buy this book online at Paper Themes for £19.99

Garden Adventure Engagement Shoot

Photography by Chloe Lee
Hair accessories (human and canine) by Crown and Glory

At the end of last month we celebrated with friends and family, for our engagement party (you can see the post here) As we were at such a pretty location, I couldn't help but want more engagement photos while we were there.

I noticed I didn't blog my inspiration for this shoot, but you can keep up with all my ideas on my Pinterest boardsI wanted this shoot to be a little more whimsical, still fun, but pretty and loving too. I wanted to make the most of the rolling gardens and gorgeous woodland areas, it was also very important that Alfie and Tilly were involved in the shoot too.
My stunning dress is from ASOS and Sam features in his favourite Primark shirt, both the dogs and I wore floral crowns (and collars) from Crown and Glory. The gorgeous Sophie kindly custom made the dogs collars especially for the photo shoot, and I think they look amazing in them, I'll enjoy dressing Tilly up like a flower Princess again soon.

I still have many different ideas for shoots, we have one lined up while we're in Florida already. To me, you can never have enough photo's and it's so important to capture them memories and keep them in your photo albums, as well as your heart.

Our Engagement Party

Photos by Chloe Lee
"He put a ring on it" from Miss Cake*
A few weekends ago, Sam and I were joined by lots of lovely friends and family for our engagement party. It was held in park grounds, of a lovely manor house, near where we live. BBQ, wine and cupcakes we enjoyed, and lots of friendly faces and lovely catch ups.

The main reason for the party was to get every one in one place, so we could tell them about our Florida plans for the wedding. It was of course to see, and catch up with with loved ones, eat good food & drink (a bit too much) fizzy wine in the sun. How lucky we were that the sun shone for us.

I was in charge of making everything look as pretty as possible, and I think I did a pretty good job. Umbrella's were at hand, in the sweetest heart vase, that luckily we didn't need. Paper straws and cute vintage style plates and cups were used, and little signs and Mickey Mouse cupcakes finished everything off so nicely.
I'm so happy with my "He put a ring on it" stand, it stood perfectly next to the cupcakes. I hope to use it some where for the party at home, too. As well as this I also ordered a custom cake topper for the wedding, to take over with us, I'm so excited and happy with it (I'm sure I'll share it at some point)

Thank you for all those that came and celebrated with us, it was really so lovely and touching to have our loved ones support us on this happy time.
We're keeping all fingers crossed that some of them also fancy a holiday and will come and join us when we walk down the (beach) isle.

Something Blue

Paige Joanna customised brooch*

Who doesn't like get presents through the post? So when this gorgeous brooch popped through my door last week, I was so thrilled by it's kind meaning & beauty.

Paige is a true friend now, that I met through blogging last year. A gorgeous, and very talented girl, who is slowly adding to her awesome Etsy page. From plush toys, to pretty necklaces and every sort of illustration in between, Paige is your girl (she is the artist behind my header)

I am so excited to have something so personal, and utterly beautiful to add to our wedding. I plan to pin it onto the ribbon that will be around my flowers in Florida.

If you pop over to Paige's site, let her know I sent you. You can ask her any questions on custom designs or makes on twitter, too.

Why Orlando?

In 2009, Sam and I ventured on our first magical trip to "The Mouse". Two weeks in a dream world, and that was when I first knew I wanted to get married at Walt Disney World.

As a child, I was very lucky to visit Disney World three times, and then again in 2006 when I was slightly older. A trip that never happened, then had my lusting over going again because I enjoyed the '06 trip so very much. Funny thing is, as I child I didn't mind Florida, but it was never this magical place that it now is for me now. Sam and I discussed it and we soon had everything booked. An amazing trip, with my amazing Boyfriend, to the best place on earth.
One day, while we were trying to find the Grand Floridan Spa, we actually found the wedding chapel. My life went floating up above me, and my heart pounded. The Disney wedding chapel! This started a whole lot of searcher for me, and up until now it hasn't really stopped.
In 2012 we went back to Florida for another super holiday "of a life time". I was of course keeping my fingers crossed for the ring, this how ever didn't happen. How perfect, the Castle, Wishes fireworks. Never mind
This year however, the planning has stepped up to a whole other level. The Disney part of the wedding has pretty much been sorted, and a dream can actually come true.

Plans have changed and due to prices and number limitations we have now decided to tie the knot at the Swan and Dolphin beach venue. An unoffical Disney hotel, on the Walt Disney World resort- meaning that I can have the little perks (ie Donald and Daisy at the wedding) but for a smaller cost and on a beach. When I saw Michelle's and Russel's wedding this was when S&D really swayed it for me, they had an amazing and fun wedding and seemed everything like the magic I dreamed of. (you can see the stunning video of it here too)
The lowest point of not doing Disney Fairy Tale Weddings is that we won't be allowed the Magic Kingdom wedding shoot, something that looks beyond magical and amazing. The point of getting married in the States is to save money though, and so dreams can happen, while being sensible.
I keep my fingers crossed that my friends and family come and join us, I'm under no lala land , thinking it's doable for everyone. But it's my dream, a dream that come true and is really the only option for us. We don't want to feed 100 people a roast dinner, we don't want to step foot in a church, we don't want floral coming out our ears. We want to get married in the place that makes our heart flutter, in the sunshine, with converse on our feet and the ducks as our guest. Each to their own, and how ever much I smile when I see and amazing barn, sparkly high heels and beautiful blooms hanging from every surface. I remember the feeling that Walt Disney World makes me feel, and the dream that could come true.

Seaside Engagement Shoot

One sunny day in May, we were joined on Bournemouth beach with the amazing Chloe Lee, for our seaside engagement shoot.
I wanted these photos to be fun, easy, sweet and just something to get excited about. I love the colours from the ombre beach huts, the beautiful blue skies and amazing yellow sand.

I can't thank Chloe enough, I love how they've turned out, and I am so happy that Sam got into it & was happy to pose (and jump, apparently I like jumping photos a lot).
