Engagement Stationary. Invites

Engagement Party invites DIY design, printed by Vista Print.

When we decided on our engagement party, I was excited to get started on invites straight away. We ended up coming up with something really simple, but something that Sam and I worked on together and were really pleased with.
We used purple colours as that's our wedding colour, and simple designs and graphics including the bunting and banner.

We're now totally up for designing & getting ideas for invites and other wedding stationary...keep your eyes peeled as I'll be sure to share.

Our Engagement Party

"He put a ring on it" from Miss Cake*
A few weekends ago, Sam and I were joined by lots of lovely friends and family for our engagement party. It was held in park grounds, of a lovely manor house, near where we live. BBQ, wine and cupcakes we enjoyed, and lots of friendly faces and lovely catch ups.

The main reason for the party was to get every one in one place, so we could tell them about our Florida plans for the wedding. It was of course to see, and catch up with with loved ones, eat good food & drink (a bit too much) fizzy wine in the sun. How lucky we were that the sun shone for us.

I was in charge of making everything look as pretty as possible, and I think I did a pretty good job. Umbrella's were at hand, in the sweetest heart vase, that luckily we didn't need. Paper straws and cute vintage style plates and cups were used, and little signs and Mickey Mouse cupcakes finished everything off so nicely.
I'm so happy with my "He put a ring on it" stand, it stood perfectly next to the cupcakes. I hope to use it some where for the party at home, too. As well as this I also ordered a custom cake topper for the wedding, to take over with us, I'm so excited and happy with it (I'm sure I'll share it at some point)

Thank you for all those that came and celebrated with us, it was really so lovely and touching to have our loved ones support us on this happy time.
We're keeping all fingers crossed that some of them also fancy a holiday and will come and join us when we walk down the (beach) isle.

Engagement Party. Inspiration.

I've always loved the thought of an engagement party, mainly because I love to drink fizz and be around the ones I love. Being our party is super special too, showing off the ring on my fingers and being the center of attention...I won't lie, I love the thought of it.

Money always seems to be the issue, who ever you are, at the moment. So we were looking for something as cheap as possible, that we could put some cute ideas of our own too. It had to be wheel chair friendly, and allow 50-100 people.
Eventually we decided on a local park, we're hiring a big BBQ from them, putting up a gazebo and hoping for the sun to shine. The perfect garden-esq party ♥

I'm looking forward to drinking bubbles, bunting everywhere, umbrellas (just in case) paper straws and fun and laughter all around.
I book mark most of my ideas & inspiration on Pinterest, be sure to follow me there too.

The Engagement Party Dress. Inspiration.

The engagement party, somewhere you can show off the ring and see the relatives that you haven't done in a while. Maybe an excuse to drink fizz and get some pretty photos taken with the family & groom. Maybe an excuse to wear a pretty dress, and have a dance around with your dress.
That's it, the dress! Being a bride is something that feels special, you're in the limelight (even if you don't want to be) and the gorgeous bride is the look you're always going for ♥

Obviously, depending on what type of engagement party you go for, will depend on what beautiful dress you pick. Lacey, creams and collars always excite me. These picks were the few that I narrowed it down to.......can you guess which I went for?
I love the River Island tea dress, the collar makes it sweet & the print perfect for summer. I can see this at a tea party or garden party. The Topshop one is still on my wishlist, the colour is sweet & I love the litte cap sleeves. As for the ASOS one, oh my, what a stunning dress. Having a cream dress for an engagement party really appeals to me, it gives the bride feel about it, without being really obvious.

A dress is never an outfit without hair accessories, and I know one girl who can do this all too well, Crown and Glory. Sophie has a huge impact on many different wedding magazines, and celebs, she happens to be a lovely friend and happens to make the best hair attire.

I'd love to know your outfit ideas for the engagement party. Both as the guest, and the bride-to-be.
